My Conceit

I have this conceit that I have to break. I keep thinking that if only I could write my assignments in just the right way, come up with the perfectly parsed turn of phrase, then the percentage of students who never read the material will all of a sudden wake up realize how simple it could be to get a good grade in my classes.

I spend So Much Time chasing down this percentage, trying to bring them into the fold, and I wonder if I'm no more successful at reaching them than all the profs who bang out incoherent project specifications uploaded to blackboard as Word documents.
